How to Wash and Dry Microfiber Towels and Cloths | Whirlpool
To avoid transferring lint, hair and dust to your towels from other items in your laundry, it is recommended that you wash microfiber cloths separately from the rest of your fabrics. This is especially true for clothing, towels or sheets made from natural fibers like cotton, as these fabrics tend to shed.

You may also want to separate heavily soiled microfiber towels from those used simply for dusting to help prevent dirt transfer.
Since microfiber towels can be a magnet for dust and other particles, give the cloths a good shake over a trash can before tossing them into your washer. This can help to loosen trapped dirt and dust from the fibers of the towel.
Once you’ve shaken out any excess dust and dirt, place your microfiber cloths in the washer. Add a fragrance-free detergent to your machine’s detergent dispenser or directly into the washer drum, depending on the make and model of your appliance.
If your microfiber towels have a strong smell, you can also add a tablespoon of white vinegar to the load to help reduce odors. Always consult your towel’s laundry care label before washing to avoid damaging the towel.
After the lint trap has been emptied, you can place your microfiber towels inside the dryer separately from garments made with natural fibers as they tend to shed. Avoid adding dryer sheets and using high heat settings to dry microfiber towels as this may damage the fibers. Instead, select a low-heat or air dry setting.
Remove the cloths from the bucket or bowl and wring out any excess moisture, then hang them on a drying rack to air dry. If you’re air-drying inside your home, be sure to hang the towels in an area with proper air circulation to prevent moisture from becoming trapped in the fibers. If possible, hang your microfiber towels out to dry in the sun.
What is Microfiber Cloth & How to Use It
People often wonder: What is a microfiber cleaning cloth?
Microfiber is defined as a fiber that is one denier or less. A denier is a measurement of fineness equal to a unit of fiber that weighs one gram for each meters….meaning it is really small.
To put it into perspective, microfiber is 1/100 the diameter of a human hair and 1/20 the diameter of a strand of silk. One square inch of microfiber cloth has approximately 200,000 fibers just for cleaning.

Can you use it to dust?
You can use these cleaning wonders in many areas of your home and office.
Split microfiber is positively-charged which attracts the negatively-charged dust particles like a magnet. This makes it more effective (and safer) than a regular cloth and chemical spray for dusting.
Even better, you can just rinse it when you are done to release all the dust and then you can use it wet, making them the best cleaning cloths for everyday use.
"Using these Microfiber cloth makes cleaning actually fun. I hate cleaning and never thought I would say this, but it's true." - Anke, San Diego, United States
Will it work when it’s wet?
When your towel is wet, it works great on smudged dirt, grease and stains. The towel works best when you rinse it and then wring it out as it needs some absorbency to pick up grime.

Will it leave streaks on windows?
Because microfiber is so absorbent, it is perfect on windows and surfaces that tend to streak.
Since these towels can hold up to 7x their own weight in liquid, there is nothing left to streak the surface. This also makes it better than paper towels when cleaning up spills.
We’ve even made products just for this task, such as our microfiber window cleaning cloths and lens wipes. These are special lint free cloths for smooth surfaces. Go here for some great tips on how to use microfiber to clean glass.
"These are high quality excellent microfiber that lasts. I have paid more I have paid less and this is the best quality and bang for your buck by far. The cheaper ones only make it through a wash or two and don't absorb the way these do." - Crystal, Verified Customer
