Ran out of wire ties

Thomas and Betts Ty-raps, they are UV resistant and have a stainless steel retainer.

If your zip tie makes a zipping sound they're a POS.

Same. Yes, they are absolutely worth the extra money. I buy mine in bags from a local racing supplier, Earl's.

I've given up on the lesser imitations. Life is just too short to dick around wondering whether your crappy "zip-ties" are going to hold long-term.

If you need to use a lot in some consistent and un-challenging application, then I guess you could save a few bucks on a bag of reasonably decent cheapies.

My use cases are quite varied; I'm usually using a few at a time in all sorts of situations, usually motorcycles. So it's important that the wire bundles or whatever stay where I want hem, and it's well worth using the absolute best knowing they'll stand up to heat, cold, sun, and vibration. The biggest issues I've had with the imitations is that they get brittle, and some are too brittle right out of the bag.
